Harleys are no big revvers, but they do a lot more than 2800rpm. All that Compufire are saying is that the full 40 amp is available at 2800rpm, this is not a limit, but beyond this rpm the regulator cuts in to limit output; just like they have been doing for the last 40 years or so. Two stroke motorcycles rev way above 7200; what rpm do your two stroke outboards max out at? BR, Dave McC
