You need pressurized oil on the turbo bearings. The shaft will sieze VERY fast if there isn't oil pressure.  
 
Now wait a minute.  Didn't we just establish that the bearing "seals" will not hold even the slightest pressure, which means we can NOT pressurize them.  Sounds like we need oil flow, not pressure.

Partially true Rusty. But what is done is that there is a clearance space at the end of the bearings. After the oil bleeds out of the bearing there is no real pressure. You didn't think the e-shaft end seals hold back 100+ PSI oil pressure did you?
