I haven’t actually really been working on the car consistantly so I’m sort of trying to help secondhand. The carb is actually a SK Racing carb which apparently is a copy of a sidedraft Weber. Three nights ago he and I both thoroughly went through it and cleaned it and it appears to be flowing fuel well since last night I had him hold up a funnel full of fuel (yaa, I know, not the safest thing to do!) and feed the carb by gravity and he said the car seemed to run fine that way. Also, he doesn’t even have a muffler hooked up so I don’t think there’s any problem with flow restriction. That sucker is LOUD. Crazy loud. The engine (including carb, etc) was built by some guy named Skip who it seems everyone knows but no one knows how to get a hold of. There’s another rotary guy here in town (just across the runway from where I work) that has a *sweet* setup on a tiny little hotrod jet boat that is just freakin unbelievable. It has a blower on it and just screams. He’s been helping my friend a little too. Anyway, I digress… the car had a fuel injected engine in it so has the fuel injection high pressure pump. He has a pressure reducer that looks kind of suspect so his next try is to take the pump out of his other parts car and try that. He thinks it’s a low pressure carb pump but isn’t sure- how can he tell just by looking? Otherwise he’s thinking of getting an aftermarket low pressure pump and just mounting it on the firewall but then he would have to do something with the one in the tank. Suggestions? Sorry this isn’t aircraft guys but really appreciate your help. Joa __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
