Ed,
Yep, he has a million projects on the go and your right the electronic variable pitch prop is really a nice piece of work.

Outsourcing the way to go; but what ever happened to the chap who was going to test it for Butch - never got the project aircraft finished?
We need them 'down under' as well. I've been telling people about this for months now, I'm sure they think I'm  full of B.S.

Tell him I said "hello" - through FlyRotary.

Yes, George, Butch will be at the meeting.

I'm sorta going to be his surrogate in the project - he simply does not have the time to devote to it.  I want to see his efforts move on to a product (if possible) so that we have a reasonably priced and safe alternative to those $10,000 variable pitch props.  Several guys in South Carolina are really the ones that will be doing the work.

Ed,
Good on ya - I've been asking Butch what was going on with that!
Will Butch be there ?
George ( down under)
Hi John,

Almost scared to head toward Florida - especially if there is a tail wind {:>).  Would love to come, but not really an EC2 expert - and can't even offer another pair of eyes - but could offer one eyeball (still works pretty good catching wiring errors {:>).

However, I am scheduled to host a meeting of some interest to the rotary community.  Butch Diaz designed a variable pitch prop hub back several years ago and we plan to meet this weekend to see if we can get this thing on a test stand and moving along.  So several folks will be converging on my workshop later this week (got to clean that son of a gun up!) to hammer out a program to move this through a series of tests.

Should they prove successful AND the costs can be contained, we just might see some of these come available.  That is all I can say at the moment.

Sorry to say, just a bit too much on my plate between now and flying to Lower Slobovia Outernational Flyin on Labor day to make it to Florida - wish I didn't.  Been wanting to see your set up.

Ed.

As much as I know you don't want to hear this, please consider having someone else look at your wiring.
Not at all. Actually I've been thinking this is the next step.
All I need is an EC2 expert with nothing else to do.
Fancy a trip to Florida, Ed?
