Very nice panel,it would be a shame to loose it, in your situation there little chance of of ingesting something but there is still that chance.
I chose the large VFD display for my Velocity. I think it is too big for the radio stack. I put it right in front of me, and put the 4 little push button switches through it’s face at the sides. You can see my “glass” panel (before labels) with the EC2 and EM2 at http://members.cox.net/alg3/Panel.htm ;

Subject: [FlyRotary] Slade, Tracy and EM2 users...
Ok.. I need to get on the stick here and get some things done.. One of
which is to get the EM-2 ordered. Chris has been prompting me to get
this done, and I am now to the point I am ready to send Tracy some $$$
and get this started.. (translation, I will be able to pay for it when
its ready). The EM-2 is something I have been pushing for (Chris would
prefer to go with the simplicity/lesser cost of steam gauges, so if I
want it bad enough, I've got to get it) since it integrates nicely with
the EC from a programming standpoint. The autotune feature that is
coming online is darn near priceless in my eyes.. so time to get with it..
I've read Tracy's page about the different versions, and up in the
hangar I do have some paper "placeholders" that are the size of the EM
display components... but I need to make a decision: LCD or VFD. If I go
with VFD then do I go small or large?
I have the space (the Velocity panel has lots of room compared to much
of what the list guys are flying).. I just want to go with
cost/benefit.. as well as appearance. I am presuming the "large" one is
the size that will fit in the radio stack (or darn near) but that is a
presumption and nothing more.
Those of you with EM's in your panel, please share your opinions on
placement (pictures if you have em..) as well as switch placement. Also
share the reason for your choice of VFD versus LCD and your experience
with that choice.
