Tested the cowl
throttle, and found out that it didn’t do as much as I had hoped. Clearly going
to have to add some area to the door tomorrow. Also found that I have a nagging
oil leak (spoke too soon) somewhere around the front cover. Removed the oil metering pump block-off
plate, and resealed it with the magic gray stuff. It was the only plate that I left from
before, and it didn’t appear to be sealed that well. I’ll find out tomorrow if that’s
it. The engine continues to run well.
Conditions today
were about 80 on the ground. 62 at
3000 ft.
Climb, 6200 rpm, 110
mph, to 3000 feet. This was
described as “bat out of hell” by folks on the ground, but my VSI is acting
wacky, so I’m not sure what it really was.
