My engine will hit 6100-6200 rpm at 3000 msl but my top speed = is limited to 196 MPH TAS with my 68x72 Performance propeller. Trying = to figure how your are going faster tunring your prop slower. Could be = I need to clean up the airframe a bit. With muffler, WOT at 3000 msl gives about 5350 rpm, 180 mph = true. (156 knots)

Without, WOT at 3000 msl gives about 5820 rpm, 206 mph = true. =20 (179 knots)

OAT was 30 C.

Tracy, the 120 mph climb rpm was 4800 with the = muffler, 4880=20 without it.
