Acetone might work as well, just haven't tired it. You don't want it watery, just thinned down enough to spread easily with a brush (I use the plumbers throw away metal handle acid brushes). Then lay your aluminum over the spread and press it down firmly. I use grocery store heavy duty aluminum foil. You can tear the foil but it stays attached and it keeps the heat and oil from the fiberglass. Its easy and cheap enough to replace if you mess it up.
