I hooked up the meter to a wire leading to the starter switch and connected
the little wire with an alligator clip.  You  will want to make sure that
this little wire does not wind up on the starter ring when you crank it up.
This is a trick that I learned from Rusty, but it is not for beginners.
(laugh now!)

Moving the connector around on the starter switch spade terminal was
apparently all that needed to make the needed connection.  I could not
repeat the problem after cleaning up the connector.

We will move on to the bigger challenge of actually getting this thing in
the air.
