Thanks Bill;
AN fittings are called out in 1/16 inch increments. As an example a
AN16 fitting is 16/16ths hence 1 inch.
I should have known this and it makes sense (or at least as
much sense as can be had from a measurement system based on a dead kings various
body parts). I'll remember this now.
I
recommend the book by Carrol Smith "Nuts Bolts Fasteners and Plumbing" which
is a great resource and cuts the bull as it were.
If I have trouble sleeping maybe I'll pick this one up :-). Seriously
though, it probably would be a good resource, maybe I'll tell my boss I need a
copy and he'll order one for the shop.
