There is a very significant alternate reason to consider a EWP (electric
water pump).
Engine cooling is required. Flight critical redundant systems just make
sense for aircraft. A EWP is the lightest cheapest, fully capable back up,
that has a further advantage of being powered an alternate way from an
Engine Driven Water Pump (EDWP).
It was success as a backup system that drove the idea of EDWP replacement.
