Hi, Dale...I don't think you missed anything....It appears it was I who

missed something....like a vent from the top of the surge tank to one of the

main tanks.

The sump vent doesn’t need to go back to a main tank.  It may be easier to manifold it to the vent line from the main tank. But I guess you already knew that.
