Hey, Rusty....the MicroTech came only with the auto mapping default numbers installed.  After talking with Dave Atkins, it seems my 48% mixture increase is not unusual. Various factors, such as two large injectors in the throttlebody instead of the 4 smaller injectors used by Mazda, etc, etc. Bottom line....I gained significant power, engine runs great, and I am very pleased.  In retrospect, I should have read the manual a lot sooner, but like most men, who needs directions anyway?  I'm finding that as I become familiar with one feature, many more features start to make sense, as they are often closely related and/or interactive with one another.  ie...once I learned to set up the map for idle rpm's,  it was basically the same to set up for WOT.  Yes, the MicroTech does show air/fuel mixture, but I was not smart enough to write it down while setting my WOT mixtures yesterday. Seems like I recall seeing an air fuel mixture around 13.  Make any sense?  Paul, the manual finall makes sense, Conner

When I advanced it to 48%, I was up to 5300 rpm's static. Hooray !!!

Glad to hear you've made some improvements.  500 rpm is pretty significant. Didn't you say the MicroTech would show mixture from the O2 sensor?  Might want to try to read that, so you can tell where you stand.  48% seems like a lot to add.   Does Dave download any tuning info into these, or are they set up with default maps for auto use?  From what I've seen of the MicroTech unit, it's very nice, but like you said before, lots of features creates a good news / bad news situation.  Having all that flexibility gives you lots of power to change parameters, but it leaves you with the responsibility not to screw up your engine.   I think you're committed to having to learn the unit thoroughly to get the most out of it

Cheers,
Rusty
