The few radiators I have seen on race
cars were not oil/water exchangers - although they might be mistaken for
them. Many radiators for race cars combine both the oil cooler and the
radiator in the same package to conserve space/ease of installation -
usually the lower part of the "radiator" actually being the oil
cooler. However, the oil cooler discharges its heat into the air same as
the radiator.
Easy to jump to the conclusion that a package which
has oil and coolant flowing into it as an oil/coolant heat exchanger when its
really not.
But, Lynn would clearly have a better handle
on this - how about it Lynn?

Only oil/water exchangers I have seen that work are on
boats.
The oil/water
exchangers I see most seem to be on real race cars. There must be
something efficient about it, or those boys wouldn't use them. It's most
unlikely that I'll end up using Ken's exchanger for the RV-3, because I just
don't have the space. I intend to use one on the SS
though.
