Subject: [FlyRotary] Lycoming
style engine mount accessory cover
Lycoming style engine mount accessory cover
I am investigating casting an accessory cover to replace the
stock Mazda cover. So far I have roughed out a mock up in foam. With the
following objectives:
- Replacement of stock Mazda cover & water pump
housing in one piece with integral filler cap.
- To be able to bolt straight onto stock Lycoming (
conical ) engine mount. Dynafocal possible would depend on demand.
- Relocate water pump & alternator to same unit
- No distributor drive height problem by deleting
distributor (crank Sensor)
- Weight saving about 15lbs
- No new aircraft engine mount to fabricate weight saving
and cost saving for many existing aircraft from 0235 to 0360.
- Same thrust line as Lycoming
As this is still in the design and fabrication stage.
I would be interested to have input from anyone
who is potentially interest to asses demand and my design goals are
on the right track.
