If the plugs have been wet, usually the mixture is too rich to light, and
there is not enough compression. (No oil film on the iron.) If you spin it faster
to limit leakage time, or give it spritz or WD-4 in each inlet. You get good
compression for a few revolutions, and that gets enough heat into the chambers
to vaporize some fuel. I have squirted engine oil, and a 1/4 cup of hot
coffee into each runner in cold weather to get a start. It has never failed to
work. But I have two MSDs to light things up.
The smoke cloud is impressive.
