The picture at http://kgarden.com/cozy/cz660.jpg
shows the stock primary injector rail. Is that the regulator at the left hand
end? If so, I don't see any way that it adjusts to manifold pressure.
--- The pressure
regulator would be on the rear end of the secondary rail, and it will have a
vacuum hose fitting on it. What you're looking at is the pulsation
damper. BTW- in 3rd gen cars, this damper is the number one cause of
engine fires! They all seem to eventually leak. If you do end up
using one of these, get a new one.
--- Also, for help identifying parts, you
can download the Mazda parts diagrams for any year RX-7 from Mazdaformance (a
GREAT company). Use the "parts diagrams" link on this page- http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7.htm
OK, so this takes care of the primary injectors. Since they go
straight into the block I dont see that it would make sense to move them to
somewhere else on the intake. But, what do I do about the secondary injectors? I
gather they normally fit into the bit of manifold I dont have, So should I mount
them on the tubes somehow.
--- Yes, mount them in
the tubes, or use an aftermarket TB that has bosses for the injectors built
in.
--- Another question,
are you using Tracy's EC2? If so, you won't be able to use all the stock
3rd gen injectors. The primaries are 550's, and the secondaries are
850's. That's probably too much of a difference for the way Tracy set up
his controller.
In the second picture you can see my cut off stock manifold flange.
It looks like some aluminum J bends would weld up to this ok, but now - what's a
good way to attach the throttle body? I got a 2nd gen unit - see http://kgarden.com/cozy/cz661.jpg
but I don't see how this can easily attach to four pipe ends. I've looked at the
parts Paul Lamer is making, but it doesnt seem like these would buy me
much.
--- Do you have room on top of the
engine? Have you looked at the wrap over intake and TB that Atkins
sells? It's not perfect, but it sure is easy. I like easy,
and I don't mind paying for it :-)
