The hinge pin retrofit consists of a wire hinge pin (stainless, I think)
fitted inside a Teflon tube. The OD of the Teflon tubing fits inside the
hinge loops with the steel wire pin inside that. It's a bit of a tussle to
get it installed but it's certainly worth the effort. Gone is the black
aluminum wear dust streaks behind the hinges and gone is the hinge loop
wear. In additon, the hinges are permanently lubricated due to the Teflon
bearing surface.

Well worth the small price and extra effort. Before I installed these hinge
pins, I had to replace the left outboard elevator hinges and the left
outboard aileron hinges due to excessive wear.
