The OD of the Teflon tubing fits inside the hinge loops with the steel wire pin inside that. It's a bit of a tussle to get it installed but it's certainly worth the effort. Gone is the black aluminum wear dust streaks behind the hinges and gone is the hinge loop wear. In additon, the hinges are permanently lubricated due to the Teflon bearing surface. Well worth the small price and extra effort. Before I installed these hinge pins, I had to replace the left outboard elevator hinges and the left outboard aileron hinges due to excessive wear.
