My Cessna 150 had a SCAT tube rubbing against the engine mount. It was
discovered before it had a chance to damage the engine mount. We fixed it by
taking a short (2 inch) length of fuel line (though any rubber hose would
do), slitting it so that it would go over the engine mount tube, and
tie-wrapping it in place. The tie wraps hold the rubber tube in place rather
than providing cushioning themselves. The SCAT tube now rubs against the
rubber "sleeve".
If the rubber ever wears through, we'll take another piece of rubber hose and
do it again. But it's been several years now and all is well.
On my 360, I have put an Adel clamp on the engine mount and anchored a big
Adel clamp to it. The SCAT tube goes through the big Adel clamp and doesn't
touch the engine mount at all.
