Forward CG.?

The 320s are about 40 lbs lighter than the 360s.  The wood fixed pitch props
are much lighter than metal.  The 3 blade MT with hartzell hub is 20 lbs
lighter than the two blade constant speed aluminum Hartzell props.  I don't
know the weight difference between your wood prop and the above but you
would guess it is much lighter.  These factors would move your CG aft.
Placing the battery and pump behind the front seat makes sense since most
Lancairs tend to be tail heavy.

Suggestion, Install the Hydraulic pump behind the passenger seat. do your CG
calculations after completing the craft then place the battery either aft
bulkhead, behind your seat or in the engine compartment for best solution.
If I were to guess you will need the battery on the motor mounts with a 320
or behind you with a 360.

If you are really tail heavy, you can place your battery in the right front
engine compartment in an aluminum box and mount the box on the motor mounts.
I have a 27 amp gel cell battery in that area and you have just enough room
to squeeze it in and blast air into the box.  Works great.

I also have the MT 3 blade constant speed prop, 360 counterweighted engine
which is heavier, left front prop governor, MKII tail, outback gear, header
tank, heavy panel, short mounts, gear pump behind passenger no pedals for
passenger and balance is just right.

You did not indicate whether you have a header tank or not.  I assumed you
did.

Tell us what you did so we can all be informed.
