But, I have a real hard time with your advice. The aft main gear bearing blocks are specifically designed to be installed one way and only one way. Please do not muck around with the way these are designed by reversing them. Casual observance of these bearing blocks will indicate right away that they are designed to take certain forces and pressures on landing. If you reverse the position, you change the way these blocks are going to handle landing forces. CALL LANCAIR and ask them for a solution. I'm assuming that you are installing the gear in the inverted position. Check this out. The farther you rotate the gear into a positive angle, the more clearance that you will have for the bracket. The instructions say to put the bracket flush with the upper spar cap (lower one in the inverted position), but that will give you a negative angle for the gear.....try rotating the main gear forward to get about a 1-1.5 degree positive attack angle from the gear. This movement should rotate the aft weldment and may give you enough room to fit inside the spar. The only problem that it can cause is that your tire may be very close to the main spar upon retraction. My 2cents worth Curtis Krouse N753K >Try rearrange the aft > bearing blocks ... I had to reverse mine (on rear spar) to achieve the above > installation. Work with the rear attach bearing bracket in different > attitudes. Be careful to get the pivot bearing facing the proper direction. > Jerry Grimmonpre' LNC2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
