hi , for an emercency exit in the homebuilts i have had , i carry in a case
attached close to me a small stainless steel hatchet . with this you can
smash out the window,. for an emergency.
if you have time and tools , why not just dismantle the door latch and
mechanism from inside the aircraft.
this would likely be as quick as removing the rear bulkhead.
many homebuilts do not have alternative , emergency exits as the IV does.
so for aircraft with only the one door/exit  , you may not have any other
alternative to exit quickly , except to break your way out.
when you are trapped in an aircraft you more than likely do not have enough
room or strength to smash your way out. thats why i carry the hachet.  one
that is all metal  , one piece with no wooden handle to break off .....marty

Brent Regan says:
<<sharp DAR may not approve a bonded pressure bulkhead..>>

Brent is right. However long it may take you to remove 75 AN3 bolts from
their nut-plates, the bulkhead is an egress point. Hadn't thought of that
one. As a DAR(F) I would have to consider that carefully, but haven't run
into it as yet....Tony Durizzi
