I just received some of John Barrett's carbon hinges for attaching my cowl top and bottom halves.  They look even better than the older versions, fit and function very nicely, and seem to be lighter.  Now if we can just get rid of the heavy steel hinge pin, they may actually float after they are tossed into the air.....  And the nice nylon tube against which the hinge pin rides eliminates that black gorp that forms with aluminum piano hinges in the rain.  Very nice indeed.
