Angier -
You may find that the lightweight fiberglass cloth is used for the front edge
of the elevator trim tab, going over the foam piece that you glued onto the
front of the rim tab. My manual suggests getting lightweight cloth from the
model airplane hobby store. My recollection from those days twenty years ago
when I worked at one was that it was just like the lightweight cloth in the
kit.
Sorry I can't give you the canopy height number as my kit is in Watsonville
and I'm not. Maybe I can do it later this week...
I don't recall what the 1/4 inch tube is for -- I assume it's a thicker
walled tube than is used for hydraulic lines.
