"l'll try my cruise power settings again at 26,000' and lean until the engine complains, (15gph), then increase MAP to 33" and record all data. I'm sure the temps will be just as low as ever due to my high volume of cooling area through the cowling. Maybe my Gami's need a tweak here and there. I'm coming through your area in June, but with a different IV-P, Dave Riggs's airplane, who has recently installed Gami's and seems happy with them. He is getting 2.5 gph less burn at his cruise settings. May stop in anyway for fuel and say hello. Dave may come along on the trip, but doubt it. He also installed AeroGold UV block window coverings. All the windows, cuts down most of UV and most of the heat in cruise. Amazing, but pricey! I guess it makes you "think cool" when your CHT's go up. (G) Meanwhile, due to your Gami's, I am getting 1400 NM range out of IV-P's 94 gallons fuel. I am still using Marvel Mystery Oil (4oz's @ 10 gallons 100LL) and recommend this to the Lancair family of aircraft. My partner and I both really appreciate this increased range. Not having to descend, refuel, and climb back up again.
