I am getting smarter as I read--but want to ask George and the group a rather basic question... Since I am at the beginning of a non-pressurized Lancair IV project and will be purchasing an engine sometime in the near future, which engine is the better of those available? My intended operation includes travel, usually at intermediate altitudes (not always in the flight levels) as well as shorter hops below 10k feet. I am interested in building a light, fast, quick aircraft and want as much horsepower as is reasonably possible. I am familiar with Brent's engine mount conversion for Lycomings (Ly-Con does not yet offer it for sale however) so do not feel limited to Continentals only. Of course the TSIO-550-E would be the easiest install as the factory has solved most of the integration challenges (I hope), but if you all were to begin again, which specific engine, turbo, supercharger, whatever combination would you recommend? And of course George, turbo-normalizing is always an option (given a clean sheet of paper), but which engine and which turbo setup? And why not ground boosted? Thanks for rehashing an issue that has probably been talked about many times before. regards, Paul Tackabury (rookie) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
