Although it would be nice to drag everyone into the 21st century at the same time, Marv is correct in keeping everything simple -- and I say that in plain text.  Imbedded digital photos and colorized text HTML (blue letters for blue words) would be fantastic, but not all of us have a DSL or cable connection for fast service (just got @home - great!).  However, there is another alternative.  Rather than burdening Marv with AOL6 hieroglyphic translations to ancient American, get a free hotmail account (go to hotmail.com while on AOL).  Then compose plain text e-mail under hotmail, send it to LML and CC it to your AOL account to keep all you stuff together.

P.S. I have lost 2 great and lengthy e-mails whilst composing them in hotmail because of switching screens.... save as a draft often.
