You can add to your list of tax woes the fact that, when you retire and start collecting your pittance from Social Security, it gets lumped in with other income you receive and is also taxed as ordinary income. Beats me why they don't just reduce the monthly amount rather than send it to you and then ask for some of it back. Maybe the IRS just wants to be sure we don't forget about them.
