<<Deakin's article on "Fire breathing Dragons.....>>
Deakin has quite an over inflated ego, for no reason, and has had for the 35
years I have been associated with him at Air America and JAL. I would take
what he says with a grain of salt, as I would anyone's advice. However, I
have been running extremely LOP, and with GAMI's. Have 500 hours on my first
overhaul. Total 900 on airframe. Engine runs smooth down to 15 GPH at
2400rpm/29", which gives me 58% power, and 277 Kts TAS. Cabin stays at 5 psi,
if I add a little warm air "pull" on the mixing valve. I also have been using
Marvel Mystery Oil for the past 2 years, 4 oz's @ 10 gallons of 100LL. Have a
friend who has 2 185's up in Alaska, and gets TBO on his engines with MMO, 6
oz's @ 10 gallons, and adds a pint during oil change. What do you think about
adding MMO at the oil change? Been busy as hell with DAR activity and
instruction/test.
Best regards,
Tony Durizzi
