Sorry to disagree, Jeff, but the Whelan installation kits - which include
the shielded pair cables for power supply to strobe light wiring - should be
used. They are chosen by the manufacturer to have the correct properties for
that useage, i.e., wire gauge, shielding effectiveness, etc. Incidentally,
BOTH high voltage pulse leads are twisted inside a shield which is provided
with a good, heavy drain (or shield) wire.
With so many things in a homebuilt that NEED your personal design attention,
why fiddle with stuff that actually works pretty good as is?
