Oregon has neither sales nor property tax (no property tax for the plane
i.e.) whereas California has both. Now before you run off saying that you've
found Nirvana, property tax on your home is exorbitant,  much more than
California (I've lived in both states), and state income tax for anything
near a livable income is 9% (no it's not a typo, it's _nine_ percent). So
you land up paying, it's just the reason that varies.
