Two suggestions;
1. Buy two strobe lights from JC Whitney, the ones that sit on top of the
vehicle about $10 each. Take them apart and throw away all but the bulb
and flash card. Mount the unit in the wing tip with nothing but a low
amperage 12 volt wire running out the wing. This is my set up. I am
having trouble with a suitable lens system, but am confident its not
insurmountable.
2. Buy a used Wheelan system from an airplane salvage yard. A builder at
the Sun-N-Fun told me he paid $20 for the unit but had to purchase new lens
and they are very expensive from Wheelan.
