Very good description, Brent. A couple of corrections for what are probably
typos: One pound force will accelerate one slug of mass at the rate of 1
foot/second^2. Therefore one slug will exert approximately 32.2 pounds of
force on the earth (any mass when exposed to only gravitational force will
accelerate downward at 32.2 ft/sec^2). Also, gravitational force is
inversely proportional to the square of the distance, not proportional.
I am still wondering how to estimate the static thrust of a propeller...
