All the electrical wiring, engine instruments etc. are on the right side of the panel. The nearest electrical devices were the radios in the middle. I calibrated the compass several times on the compass rose. With the best adjustment, I could get the calibration errors down to about 5 degrees. That was OK except the calibration did not remain constant. I was swinging the compass on a monthly basis. I finally wised up and took the VCC out of the panel and trashed it. I purchased a small, light compass at the auto parts store and mounted to the canopy with RTV. When I swing the compass now I can not find any calibration errors greater than 1 degree. Therefore, I do not have a compass calibration card. It's not just the electrical devices the effect the magnetic field, there is also that big chunk of metal up front.
