Doug, We have the S.I.R.S. compass mounted in the panel of our 320. Reads exactly the same with everything shut down as it does with everything powered up. Seems to work a lot better than the old Airpath Compasses. Looks better IN the panel than on top and you don't have to worry about canopy interferrence. We mounted it above the gyros (vacuum) and pitot-static instruments. Email me if you want a photo.
