OUCH Brent! - 3 KW!
Let's see: 3KW at 12 volts is right close to 250 amps (or 125 A at 24
volts), if I haven't slipped a decimal point! That's gonna take a bit of at
least #1 or 2 AWG cable (maybe bigger!) in order to get some power to the
modules without too much line drop (especially when one considers the fact
that if the line resistance is only 0.1 ohms total, that's a drop of 25
volts in a 12 volt airplane and 12.5 A in a 24 volt one) which means, of
course, that it'd be hard to get 3KW at the load. Then there's the
alternator big enough to handle the load, plus something like a hefty
battery contactor to turn things on and off. Looks like the heat from the
(reasonably sized) cables would likely offset the cooling you'd get from the
modules.
Seems the Peltier coolers present some INTERESTING (!) problems.
