In answer to Don Gordon's question about the nose gear hitting the gear
door: I don't know about other LNC2's, Don, but mine always has. After
seeing a scratch appear on my nose gear fork, I carefully checked the system
(on jacks) and determined that the nose gear door always opened slowly
enough for the fork to hit it. In fact, the gear always "helped" the door
open. I also determined that the scratch was being made by the protruding
end of a hinge attach screw since the door wasn't getting out of the way
quickly enough.

My solution was to obtain a small block of High Density Plastic
(Polypropylene, I think it was - anyway, very tough and slippery - Teflon
would probably work as well) about 4" long by 2" wide and about 3/8" thick.
This was contoured (upper surface rounded or tapered) so there were no edges
to catch on on the upper surface. I drilled part way through the block on
the back side to cover the screws and attached it on the inside of the door
to act as a rub-block for the part of the nose gear that was hitting the
screw. No more scratches, and I can see evidence on the plastic block that
it is being rubbed on, so it's definitely doing it's job.
