It is extremely light weight and compact - is an active antenna and is only about $65.00 including shipping from England. Trimble or someone else makes one just like it but their's uses an SM(?) connection instead of a BNC. I bought one of these because it was cheaper and then spent more than the difference in $ plus a bunch of time cutting off the connector and rewiring it. It comes with a 5 meter wire so you can put it anywhere you want in the airplane.
