First indications were that they were not being pushed fully to the outer stop by (what I assume is) the inner spring, thereby allowing some leakage, resulting in the cylinder seeing some pressure when it shouldn't. My solution, which has worked well for nearly 600 hours of airframe time, is to add a small coil spring to aid the valve's extension. An appropriately sized countersink washer (I believe they're called Tinnerman Washers) was installed under the adjusting screw head with the spring captured between the washer and the valve body. Problem solved! Doesn't take much of a spring and now that the valve is well broken in, they could probably come off - but since they aren't doing any harm, and the alternative isn't very pretty, I'll just leave well enough alone.
