This question pertains to the aluminum tubing located in the winglets used
to vent the fuel bays. As most of us who have worked with the winglets are
aware the manual calls for 1/4" tubing. I understand that several building
are utilizing 3/8" instead and that Mark at Lancair is, in fact, recommends
it. It's easy to see the logic in the larger tube size. In aconversation
yesterday with Don at Lancair he suggested not using the 3/8" because of the
greater possibility of moisture entering the tube and also said 1/4" worked
fine for him for many years. I am curious what most builders have used, are
using and would use if they could do it over again.
thanks for the help
