I knew a person who painted his Pulsar with the Smooth Prime and then PPG over
that. The undercoat of smooth prime shrunk up after only about 1 year and he had
to strip the entire plane and start over. I would stick with the WLS Primer even
though it is a bit hard to sand (it really isn't that hard to sand). I apply the
first coat of WLS with a squeegee, let it dry, sand it down, spray WLS again.
That protects the body work. When I am ready for paint, I will sand again, apply
PPG primer, sand until I get as perfect a finish as possible, then spray on the
color...or something close to that order.
