I need some more help. first let me thank every one who
responded to my filling and sanding questions, it helped
a lot.
My primary goal is to lower the landing speed of my ES.
I would be thrilled to get it down to the advertised
stall speed of 57 mph. I have already installed the
dorsal fin on the outboard of the ailerons {ala Columbia}
and I will be installing vortex generators, but I am
wondering if it would be beneficial to fabricate strakes
between the flaps and ailerons like the ones I see installed
on Cessna's with STOL kits. By this I mean the fins that
are tapered from the leading edge and grow taller to the
trailing edge centered between the aileron and flap
on the top of the wings.
The extra drag and slower cruise speed from these is of no
importance to me, if they will lower my landing speed.
I'm not an aeronautical engineer so I need help from
those who now more than I.
Any facts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance
