Brent Regen,

I'm planning on installing the Sierra Flight Systems EFIS 2000 in my L-IVP.
In talking with Nate At SFS he said that several installations have used the
location immediately forward of the spar (under the emergency gear handle)
for the installation of the AHRS.  He stated that you had installed it in
the tail.  Could you elaborate on the exact location of your installation
and comment on his suggested location?  Would you install in the tail again?
Isn't the AHRS to be as near the roll and pitch axis as possible?

Another rumored location is in the "crack" of the elephant butt (wheel
cover).  I'm leery of this location in that the proximity to iron objects in
the baggage compartment (tow bar, gear up, etc) would be detrimental to
compass calibration.

If you had pictures of your installation that would be helpful too.

Regards,

Hal Woodruff
