The tubing broke at the entry to the right brake solonoid. The left brake still worked and started to send me into the grass. I got off the brakes and recovered straight down the runway with the rudder. I also pulled the mixture to idle cutoff which greatly aided the stopping process. I ended up stopping well short of the end of the runway; which I normally use almost completely. However, when I stopped, I was off the runway in the grass just a few feet to the left without any damage. Three points come out of this: 1) Pulling the mixture to idle cutoff greatly helps the stopping process. 2) Compensating for crosswind should be considered before losing rudder authority. 3) If you still have a good brake, then aim the airplane slightly towards the opposite side before losing rudder authority. Practicing no brake landings can be accomplished safely. Don't forget to bring the mixture to idle cutoff - it really helps the stopping process. I have replaced my Nylaflow Tubing in the Glasair with flexible steel jacketed tubing; can't remember the manufacture.
