If it is not installed the low manifold pressure(gage) will draw unfiltered air into the cylinder port drains. The TCM part number is 639486. The sniffle valve for the turbocharged engine is different. It is a two way valve to deal with the low and high manifold pressure(gage). ERic-- ----Original Message Follows---- From: "J. N. The manual calls for a restricted-flow elbow, threaded into a (flush) FU-2 type brass plate. Conversations with tech support (back about '98) confirmed that no sniffle valve was called for. The flush plate is a bad idea, as any drainage from it just sorta slides and slimes its way all the way back to the tail. A short, 45-degree-angled tube works much better. Any ideas about the sniffle valve for the IO-550-N? Needed or not?
