When I built my first ES, the manual did not call for a sniffle valve on
the non-turbo'ed engine. The manual calls for a restricted-flow elbow,
threaded into a (flush) FU-2 type brass plate. Conversations with tech
support (back about '98) confirmed that no sniffle valve was called for.
The flush plate is a bad idea, as any drainage from it just sorta slides and
slimes its way all the way back to the tail. A short, 45-degree-angled tube
works much better.
Any ideas about the sniffle valve for the IO-550-N? Needed or not?
