(I have Wheeler Express kits free to anyone willing to pick them up.) While Lance beats this figure majorly, I'll bet his designs in those early years (before his reputation for excellent design and performance became widely accepted) did not have much better completion rates--perhaps only 50% or less. What this means is that there are perhaps 100 or more of the early version Lancair wings lying around unused in garages, attics, barns and basements across America; and you need just one set. What you might do is offer a $500 finder's fee to anyone who supplies you with the name of the person from whom you successfully buy 235 wings. Or else try to get a list of virtually all persons who ever purchased Lancair 235 kits. Lancair has this information. Also, those early builders often networked just as we do today and therefore can probably supply you with the names of other Lancair 235 builder/owners. Perhaps an ad and finder's fee published in Trade-a-Plane or else on internet will produce results. In short, the wings are out there and perhaps can be purchased for little or nothing in dollar terms. Finding those wings is your challenge and finding them will certainly be less expensive than purchasing and modifying 320 wings. Good luck.
