Hello Ian,
I have seen the jet fighter type systems that
people have been installing in their LNC2's.
I went a different route. I used Mazda inertial
reel seat belts. They have four attach points.
The lock portion is a short segment that goes
to the hard point in the center console.
The reel itself has a single anchor point that
takes a hefty bolt. I drilled the rear spar just
at the fuselage behind each seat and mounted
the reels there. Lance said I needed no extra
ply's because hardened steel was filling the hole.
The shoulder attach point I put on the back of
the fuselage rollover Lance suggested a ply
schedule of 6 layers fanning out from the
phenolic hard point on the rollover just to the
rear window attach point. each layer a little
shorter than the previous, all of them securing
the hard point. Think bent trapezoids.
The end of the belt reel is secured in the out
board hard point that goes through to the
wheel well, as per the plan.
I have been very happy with this system. It
lets me breathe when I want and it locks when
appropriate.
If anyone is interested I can post photo's
of this setup.
