I saw it at OSH last year, I bought the kit, I tried it, and everything else pales in comparison. It is the 3M acrylic window repair kit. Available on line. Pull out your credit card and go to: www.3M.com/finishingsystems or equivalently http://www.ez2order.com/3Mfinishingsystems/ and forget anything else. From savage scratch to optical perfection in 15 minutes, with power tools and water (not sweat). It works. I was so impressed that I ordered several other kits and use the high tech abrasives with the little orbital sander for finish work on paint coats as well. They guy in the booth just finished a Corvette and directed me to "3M Imperial Microfinishing Film Grades" 9 micron grade for the final wet sand prior to buffing of clear coat. I bought coarser grades and have used them for heavier work including the final sanding of primer coats. These new abrasives are really impressive being made of carefully size-controlled pyramids lined up in rows, not sifted rocks bonded to paper with glue . I checked the site and they are having a 50% off sale until early February for some products. Like I said. Pull your credit card and get some of this stuff. It's great. And I can recommend the 5 inch Dynabrade air orbital sander, also available from Dynabrade distributors. See the products at www.dynabrade.com. The site has a list of dealers. I found a dealer in Portland, OR who had a web site, and I ordered the sander, foam padded disks for the Stick-it abrasives, and spare parts.
